TripAdvisor Revealed Top 10 Pet-Friendly Hotels

TripAdvisor, an online travel community, has recently came up with a list of the top 10 pet-friendly hotels.

The number one pet-friendly hotel is Gazebo Inn Ogunquit in Maine with an average nightly rate of $164. Followed by TierraLinda Bed and Breakfast in Galena, Illinois having a monthly rate of $135. With an average nightly rate of $95, The Sleepy Dog Guest House in Bisbee, Arizona ranked third.

The fourth and fifth place went to Spruce Moose Lodge and Cottages in North Conway, New Hampshire and Brittania and W.E. Mauger Estate Bed and Breakfast in Albuquerque, New Mexico respectively. Spruce Moose has an average nightly rate of $124 while Brittania and W.E. Mauger Estate has $127.

Next in line were Best Western Cavalier Oceanfront Resort in San Simeon, California and La Quinta Inn and Suites Madison American Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The Last three spots went to Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge, Massachusetts; Hotel Monaco in Denver, Colorado and The Paw House Inn in West Rutland, Vermont.

Last July 24, TripAdvisor also announced the results of its annual traveling with pets survey. The survey was conducted on 1,600 travelers where 65% are pet owners. The results showed that 61% of pet owners travel with their pet and 17% said the number one reason they travel with their pet(s) is they enjoy spending vacation with them.

Because of the high cost of fuel, 20% of pet owners said they are less likely to travel with their pets
this summer. Out of all the respondents, 44% think hotels should be more accommodating for pets and 24% would want to see hoteliers provide a pet-sitting service. While 56% of all travelers do not think there are any pet-friendly hotel chains.
